Mission :
• Monitoring the activities of CEN/TC with relevance
to mechanical contractors;
• Co-ordinating and supporting
the participation of experts in national mirror committees;
• Recommending
the direct participation of GCI-UICP in selected CEN/TC;
• Exchanging
information on all technical issues of interest to members.
Members:
Joint working group with MARCOGAZ on the safety
of domestic gas installations
Mission :
The Group prepares recommendations on
• the safety of domestic installation of gas pipe
work and appliance, flue ducts & air supply
• the
inspection and maintenance of gas installations down stream
of the point of delivery
• achieving highest energy
efficiency;
• the development of a framework for
mutual recognition of competence of persons engaged in gas
installation and maintenance activities through existing and
recognised schemes at European level.
GCI-UICP Members:
Joint working group with EUREAU on the safety of domestic
drinking water installations
Mission :
• Maintaining regular contacts with the relevant
Commission services;
• Developing joint guidance
and position papers relating to drinking water installations
in buildings with a focus on qualifications of plumbing contractors
and inspection schemes;
• Developing a water safety
plan for domestic buildings;
• Promoting these documents
towards the European Commission as contributions to the revision
of directive 98/83/EC;
• Contributing to the development
of the European Acceptance Scheme for construction products
in contact with drinking water
