Domestic gas installations play an important part in our daily
life. Their safety depends on a number of aspects including
the compliance with technical standards,
the
qualification of the operatives involved in installing and servicing
gas systems and
regular inspection / maintenance
of gas installations.
GCI-UICP is committed to striking the balance between highest
safety and efficiency levels on the one hand, and free markets
on the other. Together with the European gas distributors' organisation
MARCOGAZ, GCIUICP therefore develops strategies as to how this
goal can be achieved in the light of the European legislation
on services in the Internal Market and the recognition of professional
diplomas.
To co-ordinate their work, GCI-UICP and Marcogaz have established
a joint working group
Furthermore, GCI-UICP participates in the European standardisation
process in the field of gas installations.
