| Mechanical contractors are major players in the energy efficiency
services market. They carry out building audits, provide
energy advice and implement energy efficiency improvement
measures.
The directive on energy end-use efficiency and energy services
(2006/32/EC) will give further impetus to these activities.
GCI-UICP, in close co-operation with CEETB, promotes and
protects the interests of members in particular in the following
fields:
- Emphasising the role of mechanical contractors as providers
of energy (efficiency) services;
- Working towards a level playing field on the energy (efficiency)
services market;
- Making sure European standards on ESCO's are non-discriminatory
and do not become inhibiting factors to the development
of energy (efficiency) services;
- Contributing to the discussions on green and white certificate
schemes;
